P David Temple

Born in Cleveland, David’s family moved from Solon, Ohio to Ann Arbor, Michigan, where he attended high school and college. He graduated from The University of Michigan with a degree in Philosophy. Having worked in film production in New York City for over 30 years, he has met all kinds of people pursuing fame and has written about this fickle business in Five Times Lucky, his first novel. Five Times Lucky was FINALIST for the Foreword INDIES Award for Literary Fiction and WINNER of the American Fiction Awards for Humor. It won the Readers Favorite SILVER MEDAL for Humor.


As a playwright, David’s full-length play, The Purple House on Page Street, was a National Playwrights Conference Finalist. His play, Trade Secrets, won audience favorite at the Diez Minutos Festival and was featured at the San Miguel Writers Conference. It was published by Smith and Kraus, New York in The Best 10 Minute Plays of 2019.


Temple splits his time between New York City and San Miguel de Allende, Mexico with his wife, the actress Karen Kleeger Temple. An audio version of Five Times Lucky narrated by Karen was released in July, 2022.
